How To Save Money On Your Wedding
1.  Trim your wedding guest list:  This is never an easy thing to
do, but each person you invite has the potential of costing you
between $50 - $400.  The best solution is to sit down with both
set of parents at the same time and go over the budget.  Then
discuss how many guests can come to the wedding.  At this point
sit down and go over the guest list and create three different
lists.  List A (must have at my wedding), List B (if someone from
list A says no send them an invite), List C (if list B says no send an
invite).  Most important, be realistic!

2.  Avoid Peak Seasons:  November through March are off peak
wedding seasons.  You can usually make a great deal or negotiate
much better with wedding vendors in the winter months than
you can in the prime months.  Most important, always ask for
what you want, the worse they can say is no!

3.  Keep your wedding simple:  Many brides and grooms try to
out do the three other weddings they went to that year.  Focus
on what you really want at your wedding.  There is no need to
have a five course meal at the reception.  Doves do not need to
be released and fireworks don't need to be launched.

4.  Your meal choices:  Go buffet vs sitdown.  So many brides
and grooms seem to think that if you have a buffet that all of
your guests are going to be disappointed.  This is far from the
truth.  A buffet can bring such relaxation and flexibility to your
schedule.  First of all, guests usually eat alot at the cocktail hour
and then come to the reception and they are not hungry yet.
But a buffet allows guests to go up and get food when they want
it and the amount they really want.  Remember also, it's cheaper,
for the cost of food and the amount of servers.

5.  Combine Wedding Party gifts:  On average most couples
spend $50 on each person in their wedding party.  For
bridesmaids, buy them jewelry for the wedding day.  One, they
will get to use this gift again and again, second you now have
control over what they are going to wear.

6.  Flowers:  Buy wholesale flowers online or with a distributor.
Simple centerpieces can cost you $50 - $100 with a florist.  Rent
vases and bundle your flowers into the vase.  That simple.

7.  Limit the Wedding Party:  Each person you invite to be in the
wedding party will cost between $150 - $500.  Try using siblings
only.

8.  Cost Sharing:  Check to see if there are any other brides
having their wedding the same day or same weekend.  Check to
see if they would like to share in the cost of chairs, dance floor,
tent, tables, etc.  Share as much as you can, it can save you over
$2,000.

9.  Candles, Candles, & Candles:  Utilizing candles can cut your
decorating and flower costs, but more importantly bring your
elegance level up a few notches.  Three different size pillar
candles cascading down in a circle with a few cut flowers on the
base is a stunning look for your centerpiece and will only cost $20
- $40 each.

10.  Wedding Cake:  Get a smaller wedding cake, but ask for a
sheet cake also.  The cost will be half than ordering a wedding
cake for the number of guests you are having.  There is always
more than enough wedding cake and your guests will have no
idea that it is from a sheet cake.
